Aluminum Conversion Coatings
Aluminum conversion coating is a chemical process that forms a thin, corrosion-resistant film on aluminum surfaces. Depending on customer requirements, the coating can range in appearance from aluminum white to iridescent gold.
This process offers several key advantages, including:
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance
- Superior Paint and Adhesive Bonding
- Retention of Electrical Conductivity across all coated surfaces
Aluminum conversion coatings are often used as a standalone finish or as a pretreatment prior to painting or powder coating, particularly in aerospace, military, and electronics applications.
Yellow Chromate
Yellow Chromate, also known as Type I Aluminum Conversion Coating, is a chemical treatment that offers moderate corrosion protection while maintaining surface conductivity—a key advantage over anodizing in certain applications.
Though less robust than anodizing, yellow chromate serves as an excellent base layer for wet paint, powder coating, or other secondary finishes.
In accordance with specification requirements, parts are processed through a complete cycle of cleaning, etching, and deoxidizing to ensure optimal coating performance and adhesion.

Chemical Film
Chemical Film is a clear, chrome-free, RoHS-compliant treatment that provides similar benefits to yellow chromate, including corrosion protection and surface conductivity.
This environmentally friendly process serves as an excellent base for wet paint, powder coating, and other secondary finishes.
In accordance with specification requirements, parts undergo a complete cycle of cleaning, etching, and deoxidizing to ensure optimal coating adhesion and performance.
